Weekly Tribute (30/6/2009)

The King Of Pop for the Last 40 years.. The afroamerican who wanted to be white.. He was well-known for his many plastic surgeries. He started his career at age of five as a member of the family band : The Jacksons 5. At 1997 he was accused from the family of a child he had adopted for pederasty.. At early 90's his fortune was more than a Billion dollars.. But after that started his self-destraction. He addicted to painkillers and made a lot of expensive purchases... His Album, Thriller made huge sales. He also made 3 Children, which now are the only hairs of his fortune... Specialist support that they have never see such rich children since the rich man Onasis passed away. Many times he blamed his father for hitting him and trying to persuade him to work more and to take from him his money.. He also had made a lot of charities...
But now he is dead, and all his "friends" and his "family's members" want to take care of his children and and become the receivers of his Fortune.. I Forgot to mention that his Fortune, nowadays is almost 2 Bilion Dollars... He Also has bought the Rights from the incomes from Beattles, Shakira, Scorpions e.t.c.. which deserve 350 million dollars... He has also recorded 100 non-published songs, so as his children can sell new songs of him even after his death...
I believe that Michael was much more than a simple singer, he was an inspiration.. He learned to people the meaning of Dance, of Songs and of course he was the first person who created video clips like they are today. Before Michael the singers were just singing their songs at the video clips, he first made video clips as mini-movies...
So, What I have to say is : R.I.P ( Rest In Peace ) Michael... we will always remember you..

Gothics
Gothic-people are actually these who are between Satanism and Christianism.. They can't be recognized as a seperate religion, because they are something really not-specific. Gothic society has recently be evolved.. There is also a Goth-Inspired Music, like Gothic Metal or Gothic Rock, which is very popular.. Such a music sing bands like Evanescence, Nightwish and Within Temptation.
Gothics do not have specific beliefs.. They are persuation that everyone can believe in whatever he wants. You have to know that Gothics begann from Goths.. Goth Christians were an ancient tribe, they maintained that they were Christians, but they used to follow the Dark God Arius, they also made Rituals and performed a type of Dark Magic..
So, to conclude, we all must understand that gothics are something more than black clothes, stubborness, sadness and sculls, they are a whole community. Besides they begann from a Holy Roman tribe whose people believed they were servants of a God, better than enyone else.... So we have to respect them and their "nation"

Weekly Tribute: Madonna

The remarkable, hyper-ambitious Material Girl who never stops re-inventing herself, Madonna has sold tens of millions of records and CDs to adoring fans worldwide. Her film career, however, is another story. Her performances have consistently drawn scathing or laughable reviews from film critics, and the films have usually had tepid, if any, success at the box office. Born Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone in August 1958 in Bay City, Michigan, she moved to New York in the late 1970s and studied with renowned choreographer Alvin Ailey, joined up with the Patrick Hernandez Revue, formed a pop/dance band called "Breakfast Club" and began working with then boyfriend Stephen Bray on recording several disco-oriented songs. New York producer / DJ Mark Kamins passed her demo tapes to Sire Records in early 1982 and the rest, as they say, is history. The 1980s was Madonna's boom decade, and she dominated the music charts with a succession of multi-million-selling albums, and her musical and fashion influence on young women was felt around the globe. Madonna first appeared on screen in two low-budget films marketed to a teenage audience: A Certain Sacrifice (1985) and Vision Quest (1985). However, she scored a minor cult hit with Desperately Seeking Susan (1985) starring alongside spunky Rosanna Arquette. Madonna's next effort with then husband Sean Penn, Shanghai Surprise (1986), was savaged by critics, although the resilient star managed to somewhat improve her standing with her next two films, the offbeat Who's That Girl (1987) (although she did receive decidedly mixed reviews, they weren't as negative as those of her previous effort) and the quirky Damon Runyon-inspired Bloodhounds of Broadway (1989). The big-budget and star-filled Dick Tracy (1990) had her playing bad girl "Breathless Mahoney" flirting with Warren Beatty, but the epic failed to catch fire at the box office. Taking an earthier role, Madonna was much more entertaining alongside Tom Hanks and Geena Davis in the highly enjoyable A League of Their Own (1992), a story about female baseball players during WWII. However, she again drew the wrath of critics with the boring whodunit Body of Evidence (1993), an obvious (and lame) attempt to cash in on the success of the sexy Sharon Stone thriller Basic Instinct (1992). Several other minor screen roles followed, then Madonna starred as Eva Perón in Evita (1996), a fairly well received screen adaptation of the hugely successful Broadway musical. The Material Girl stayed away from the movie cameras for several years, returning to co-star in the lukewarm romantic comedy The Next Best Thing (2000), followed by the painful Swept Away (2002). If those films weren't bad enough, she was woefully miscast as a vampish fencing instructor in the James Bond adventure Die Another Day (2002).

Weekly Tribute - Nightwish
Early Days: Nightwish was formed in 1996 by keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, who had the idea of creating acoustic music. Tarja Turunen and Vuorinen joined Holopainen and the trio worked on a demo. Eventually, electric instruments were brought into the equation, a drummer was found, and the band released their first album, Angels Fall First, in 1997. While single “The Carpenter” was a top hit in their home country, it didn’t get much publicity outside of Finland.
Mainstream Success: With 1998’s Oceanborn, the band began to get noticed around the world. While 2000’s Wishmaster and 2002’s Century Child resulted in high sales and praise around Europe, they didn’t make much of a splash in America.
That would come with 2004’s Once, as the album featured the hit single “Wish I Had An Angel.” The single was played on MTV and featured on multiple movie soundtracks. Nightwish toured extensively behind the album, as critical and commercial success began to grow.Tarja Fired: In 2005, vocalist Tarja Turunen was fired via a controversial open letter. Tarja would continue on with a solo career. Nightwish searched for a new singer, eventually settling on Alyson Avenue singer Anette Olzon. Her first album with the band, Dark Passion Play, was released in 2007.
Current Nightwish Band Members: Anette Olzon - Vocals (Alyson Avenue)

Weekly Trinute : Green Day
Green Day is an American punk rock band consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt (born Michael Pritchard), and Trι Cool (born Frank Edwin Wright III).At the age of 12, Tre Cool became a member of the band The Lookouts. Their album attracted some attention, and Tre began performing at an early age at the Berkeley, California punk club 924 Gilman Street. In 1988, Armstrong (16 years old) and Dirnt (16 years old) formed Sweet Children, with Armstrong on lead vocals and guitar, Mike Pritchard, aka Mike Dirnt, on bass and backing vocals, and John Kiffmeyer, aka Al Sobrante, on drums.
Livermore, who also ran the Berkeley independent label Lookout! Records, immediately offered Sweet Children a deal, and in early 1989 they recorded their first EP, '1,000 Hours,' and then decided, weeks before the EP release, to change their name to Green Day. The record came out, with the cover changed at the last minute to reflect the new name, in April of 1989.One year later, in April of 1990, Green Day released their first album, '39/Smooth' (re-issued on CD in 1991, with 9 additional tracks, as '1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours'), and that summer set out in a van on their first national tour. Before leaving, they recorded another four-song EP called 'Slappy,' and while in Minneapolis-St. Paul they recorded a four-song EP of some of their old songs for the local label Skene Records, and called it 'Sweet Children.'
During 1991 the band toured and played locally, building up a large following, and also wrote and recorded their second album, 'Kerplunk!', released on Lookout Records in January of 1992. The CD version also included the four tracks from the 'Sweet Children' EP. They continued to tour through 1992 and 1993, ranging as far afield as the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Holland, Poland, and the Czech Republic (then still known as Czechoslovakia.

By 1993 Green Day had sold about 55,000 copies of each of their first albums, a huge amount for the independent punk scene in those days, and attracted a great deal of attention from the major labels. Eventually they decided to sign a deal with Reprise Records, leaving Lookout on friendly terms, and spent the greater part of the year recording their major label debut, 'Dookie,' which proved to be an almost instant sensation, helped by extensive MTV airplay for the videos 'Longview' and 'Basket Case.'
They recorded a single called 'J.A.R.' in 1995, and followed it up with the album Insomniac. Though the album didn't approach the success of Dookie, it still sold several million copies in the U.S. Their third major label album, Nimrod, was released in 1997, and Warning in 2000.
In 2003 (during time spent in the Studio) a New Wave band has appeared on the Scene, known as The Network. This 5 piece band, at first look/listen appears to be Green Day. The front man 'Fink' bears a striking resemblance to one Wilhelm Fink (Billie Joe Armstrong's Pseudonym).
Fighting burnout after Warning, the band went into the studio to write and record new material for an album. After completing 20 tracks - an impressive album according to those few who heard it - the master tapes were stolen from the studio. The band chose not to try and re-create the stolen album but instead started over with a vow to be even more ambitious.

Weekly Tribute : Nirvana
Nirvana's Origins:
Nirvana changed the landscape of rock music over the course of only a few years, but in the beginning, they were just one more struggling group deciding on a lineup and a name. In 1985, guitarist/singer Kurt Cobain met bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington, instantly bonding over their mutual love of the punk-metal band the Melvins. The duo brought in several different drummers over the next couple years, eventually settling on Chad Channing. Meanwhile, the group shuffled through different band names (including the Stiff Woodies, Pen Cap Chew and Skid Row) before opting fo
r Nirvana.
Nirvana's Promising First Album:
After recording a series of demos in 1988, Nirvana landed a deal with Seattle label Sub Pop. A year later, the group released their first record, Bleach. Though it only sold about 35,000 copies, Bleach est
ablished Cobain’s penchant for angry, compelling songs about society’s outsiders. Leaning heavily on hard rock and metal, Bleach didn’t sport the same pop hooks that Nirvana’s later albums would feature, although “About a Girl” demonstrated his early flair for catchy pop songs akin to the Beatles.
A New Decad
e and a New Drummer:
As the band entered the '90s, Cobain’s songwriting would continue to blossom. Another important improvement occurred around the same time: Channing left the group and was replaced by Dave Grohl, the former drummer of the punk band Scream. Bleach had won the admiration of respected groups such as Sonic Youth, and demos of subsequent sessions began attracting the attention of major labels. Signing with DGC and with Growl now in tow, Nirvana recorded their follow-up, an album called Nevermind. It would have been the furthest thought from any of the band members’ minds at the time, but superstardom was on the horizon.
Breaking Through to the Mainstream:
Released in September of 1991, Nevermind wasn’t an immediate blockbuster, but on the strength of its first single, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” the album reached the top of the charts by January 1992. At a time when pop and hair metal were extraordinarily popular, Nevermind signaled a cultural shift toward more urgent, intense music sparked by introspective, sometimes caustic, lyrics. The album generated four singles and catapulted the band from the tiny Washington city to superstar status.
Drug Addiction:
Though Cobain now enjoyed universal acclaim and exceptional sales, he couldn’t fully savor his moment in the sun, as he was in the midst of a horrible heroin addiction that had been developing from before Nevermind. Questions about his health circulated as Nirvana returned to the studio in 1993 to record their next album. The willfully prickly In Utero proved to be less listener-friendly, but Cobain’s commitment to hook-laden songs transcended the album's surface aggressiveness. In Utero may have scared off causal fans who simply wanted Nevermind II, but it was an instant critic
al success and a strong seller.
Tragedy:
Life After Nirvana:
Though Nirvana disbanded shortly thereafter, their legacy remains unscarred, with the band’s biggest hits still a staple of rock radio. Grohl, Novoselic and Cobain’s widow Courtney Love (of the band Hole) have subsequently released live albums and compilations, including a greatest-hits package and a box set of rare tracks. Novoselic has played in a few bands since Nirvana’s dissolution, while Grohl has focused his energy on his own band, Foo Fighters.

Song Of The Day (8\5\2009)

lyrics:
Se fossi qui con me questa sera
Sarei felice e tu lo sai.
Starebbe meglio anche la luna,
ora più piccola che mai.
Farei anche a meno della nostalgia
Che da lontano
Torna per portarmi via
Del nostro amore solo una scia
Che il tempo poi cancellerà
E nulla sopravviverà.
Non ti scordar mai di me,
di ogni mia abitudine,
in fondo siamo stati insieme
in fondo siamo stati insieme
e non è un piccolo particolare.
Non ti scordar mai di me,
della più incantevole fiaba
che abbia mai scritto,
un lieto fine era previsto e assai gradito.
Non ti scordar…
Non ti scordar…
Non ti scordar mai di me,
di ogni mia abitudine,
in fondo siamo stati insieme
e non è un piccolo particolare.
Non ti scordar mai di me,
della più incantevole fiaba
che abbia mai scritto,
un lieto fine era previsto e assai gradito.
